Opis
The spatial concept for the reorganizing of the former industrial area Badel into the central area on the edge of the Zagreb city center derived from the geometry of three urban networks in the surrounding area. Because of the spatial degraded urban entities, typological diversity and the scale of the new intervention the urban composition strategies creating the horizontal hybrid. The hybrid Badel surpasses the domains of architecture and settles into the urban scale. The design concept:
Three building blocks forming three islands, with its location in space retain the memory of the existing industrial built heritage
Three building blocks forming a platform for urban programs: business, culture and leisure, which are connected with the horizontal structure.
The permeability of the hybrid makes it accessible from the city and the private use of its services extends its timetable to 24 hours a day. S
Semi-public path is made between all three urban blocks. Semi-public path connects all three hybrid structures and provides additional access to the historic building in central areas.
