The development of the site is simple and based on 4 strong elements:
1 central square which rotates around the recovery of Distillery which becomes “ the cathedral of the industrial heritage”;
2 an artificial hill which divides the residential part above from the commercial one below planned for shops and shopping centre having the possibility to supply for wide areas for each floor available for trade activities in the central city zone and with significant economic impact;
3 a high-rise building which integrates commercial, residential, and touristic functions (a city hotel) and the activities for recreation and leisure;
4 the recovery of 3 historical buildings dedicated to the public instruction: library in the Distillery and Industrial Heritage Museum for the building that hosted the entrance to the old factory
The green infrastructure of the site makes the site more liveable, improve the ecological qualities of the city providing cooling, shade and cleaner air, enhances biodiversity and maximises the opportunities for people to experience nature close to hand, gives spaces for relaxation, creates distinctive places and delivers multiple economic benefits.
