In concept is explained how are new ideas composed with the existing area and how the spirit of the site is preserved but yet the new landmark is created that is imputed properly in an attractive, modern, architecturally valuable urban design considering social, environmental and economical sustainability.
Proposal offers mixed use program ranging from the commercial, retail, that are corresponding with the flexibility with the culture and leisure – gallery, museum – spaces that are also changeable depending of necessities.
A place can be alive if the flexibility of the one exists and if it speaks with the city as well. Creating two squares, opposite one another give the space ways to connect functions and structures and to communicate in social ways. The main spatial relationship between two Squares lies in multipurpose container that is the Yeast factory. The factory contains its own formal expression and it can be seen as a magnet that attracts new cultural events. It represents new cultural industry that is changeable as a space itself. Opposite the new multipurpose container following the structure of block in its horizontality is the continuation in functions.
The whole area is encircled with the vertical structure that can be seen as a highlight of the city with its also multifunctional use. A mark that connects history and present as well the future. In that way the city rises, creating new point of view and embrace itself. At the first look all the structures, vertical and horizontal are readable in its variability.
Furthermore the Extended Square that connects vertical structure with the horizontal can be described as a threshold where the public meets art. The proposal of the site is showing an urban, architectural and industrial design and uses it to enable a sustainable economic model that supports a public cultural attraction on the new location. Mixing functions are simplistic approach on the social, economic and structural level.
